STRUTT & PARKER ADDS RIGHTMOVE TO ITS ARMOURY
25 July 2006
Sector:
Residential - Press Release

Property specialists Strutt & Parker are delighted to announce that they have joined the property web site www.rightmove.co.uk.

Strutt & Parker was a founding partner in www.primelocation.com, which was sold to the Daily Mail and General Trust for £48 million at the beginning of this year. While continuing their relationship with Primelocation, the Firm wanted to expand its digital marketing platform, choosing Rightmove to bolster its armoury.

Rightmove was launched in 2001 and now sees, on average, more than 12 million visits every month. This makes it the 9th largest web site of any kind in the UK. At any one time it will contain around 673,000 properties with a total value in excess of £136 million. 60% of all British estate agents are partners in www.rightmove.co.uk, and if the four largest property portals in the UK are taken together, Rightmove has 78% of the total market.

Michael Fiddes, Head of the Rural Division of Strutt & Parker commented, ‘The internet is an enormously important marketing tool for many businesses these days, and that is certainly true for estate agents. Purchasers no longer need to trek into town and walk up and down the High Street; they can do all their initial research from the comfort and warmth of their own home.

‘Our research shows that a large number of our clients now do their initial searches via the web, and the figure is rising every year.

‘It is therefore very important that the on-line shop window is both attractively designed and efficient in operation. We think that Rightmove is both of these things, and its success to date proves that it is the right platform for Strutt & Parker.’

Strutt & Parker operates its own site, struttandparker.com and continues to partner Primelocation.com.
